| I only use my computer for Email and a little bit of Web Browsing. Need I worry? |
| If you shut down your computer or unplug the network cable when you are done, You need not worry. |
| Can people gain access to my personal information |
| Yes, once you are connected to a large network, the risk of intrusion is increased, if you put nothing of the personal nature on your system, you may still have to pay for malicious damage that can occure from HACKERS. |
| I use a dial-up modem, do I need NetSafe? |
| No, unless you keep a constant connection, in that case, you increase the risk. |
| If my computer has a virus, what can I do to keep it from spreading to all the people in my address book? |
| SWITCH OFF (NetSafe position). This will stop all incoming and outgoing network activity. Do what is needed to remove the virus from your system. Viruses do not affect the NetSafe Security Switch. It is a hardware device. |
| I have a network in my house, do I need a NetSafe for each of my computers? |
| You first should put one between the High-speed modem and your Router or Hub in order to protect your entire network from outside intrusion, and you still will be able to communicate between the computers on you household network. If you put one on each computer also, you can be protected from other users who go online while you choose not to with just a click of the switch. |
| Will the Netsafe switch protect me from viruses? |
| While it is switched off, your system is 100% protected from outside infection. BUT you have no Internet or Email access. You can also open a previously downloaded file or E-mail that might be infected, and still suffer the consequences, even while the switch is off. |
| Can I stop pop-up windows that keep coming on and on? |
| Switch off, close the existing open windows, switch back on and begin again (a little more carefully this time). |
| Do I need a Virus Protecter and Firewall if I get a NetSafe switch? |
| YES, I say again YES. It's like being safe at home and having your door locked (switched off). But when you go out of your house though, you best take the cell phone and mace, after all, your out in the world now. NOTE: While you are actively online, you need all your security software up to date and working!!! |
